A Kitchen Designed to Match an Exceptional Home in Cumnor
A truly inspiring project for a wonderful couple in Cumnor.
As part of their full house renovation, this incredible Cotswold stone property has been transformed to the highest and most tasteful standard in every detail and we were honoured to design and fit a kitchen that rises to match such an exceptional space.
From the outset, it was clear that this kitchen needed to feel calm, refined and perfectly in tune with the character of the home. Thoughtfully renovated throughout, the property called for a kitchen that would sit effortlessly alongside the architecture, materials and craftsmanship seen across the rest of the house.
Our clients had a clear vision from the beginning. They were drawn to earthy tones, natural textures and a timeless palette that would complement the warmth of the Cotswold stone, while still delivering exceptional functionality for everyday living. Having lived with Gaggenau appliances previously, they knew exactly the level of performance they expected and were keen to incorporate them once again into the heart of their home.
Designed with care and creativity by our designer Sarah, the layout was shaped around how the couple love to cook, prepare food and entertain. The island became a central feature of the space, both visually and practically. It was thoughtfully created with a dedicated seating area for food preparation and relaxed entertaining, finished with a striking porcelain worktop built up to a bold 50mm look and a seamless waterfall edge flowing elegantly down to the floor.
Cabinetry combines handleless grey cement doors with real wood veneer in nougat wild oak, striking a beautiful balance between contemporary design and natural warmth. These finishes were carefully selected to feel understated yet luxurious, ensuring the kitchen enhances the character of the home rather than competing with it.
Subtle brass accents add another layer of refinement, from the Quooker Fusion tap in patinated brass to the matching soap dispensers, while the Blanco sink in a soft Tartufo tone blends seamlessly into the overall palette. Herringbone flooring grounds the space, adding texture and movement while maintaining a calm and cohesive feel.
Performance was just as important as aesthetics. The kitchen features a suite of Gaggenau appliances, including a combi steam oven, warming drawer, induction hob with integrated downdraft extractor and a 400 series Vario refrigerator, alongside a Siemens dishwasher. Together, they deliver a kitchen that is a pleasure to cook in, day in and day out.
Expertly fitted by the Ridgeway team, this kitchen was delivered to match the exceptionally high standards set throughout the rest of the renovation. The result is a space that feels effortless, elegant and entirely at home within an extraordinary property.
A kitchen designed not only to impress, but to be lived in, enjoyed and appreciated for many years to come.
